Lechaina is a town located in the west of Greece. It is situated close to the cities of Pyrgos and Patras. It used to be an individual municipality, but since 2011 it has belonged to the municipality of Andravida-Kyllini. It has around 3000 residents.A popular novelist Andreas Karkavitsas was born there in 1866. He is known for the works like ‘The willowy girl’ or ‘Stories from the backpack’.
